Crawling with the debris of our drains in a harmonic mash of haunting ambience and dynamic distortion, London based folk post-punk band ‘drainfly’ bring audiences from seated awe to chaotic dance through their music.
Sharing stages with The Youth Play, Tommy Barlow and English Garden, the band have made a community across venues in the “Windmill Scene”. Their live shows are littered in industrial drums, ethereal guitars, gnarled basslines and spectral vocals.
Inspired by folklore and the mundane day to day, they use lyrics to blur the lines between nature and modern life. With an array of discarded materials while working with small artists, the band use handmade artwork in everything they do, from their website to their singles, through zines, badges, lighters and patches.

who are these drain people?
The drain people live the pipes of our drains, they are housemates with the drainflies. They are the mould in your forgotten crockery and the limescale of your walls. They clog up your drains with forgotten furniture decorating their rooms with your bedroom clutter. Living in the little natures of suburbia. We hear the drain folk’s music from our drains and play it for you to listen to.
